Show il Society DIAMOND WEDDING ANNIVERr SARY. Last evening a party of friends of Grandpa Carl William and Grandma Carolina Heptmark gathered at their home at 674 Twenty-third street to help celebrate the diamond wedding anniversary of the happy old couple. Very few couples live to celebrate sixty years of married life and Grandpa Grand-pa and Grandma Hestmark are among the exceptions. A host of friends are tendering their sincere qongratulatlous. The venerable couple cou-ple were married in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1854 and have lived in America since 1861, July 17, Mr. Hestmark will be 82 years old on the 19th of May. Mrs. Hestmark will have, reached her 81st birthday and both enjoy good health. They have lived in Ogdep over forty-two years. CHILD CULTURE CLUB Yesterday afternoon, Mrs. 53. O. Wattis entertained the ladles of the Child CuRuve club at her home, 664 Twenty-eighth street and one of the most interesting meetings of the year was held.. Business matters were attended to and reports for the year were read which showed the club to be in fine condition. An excellent program followed, the main feature being given by Mrs. W. C. King, In an addre6s on the organization of boys' clubs. A musical program was carried out by Miss Maude Ztemer, Miss Lillian Wright and Miss Beatrice Bea-trice Brewer. Miss Zlemer received continued applause on her excellent rendition of "Trolsleme Ballade," by Chopin, and "Perpetual Motion," by McDowell. Piano duets, "The Morning Morn-ing Mood," and "Amjtra's pknee" from the Peter Gynt Suite were given giv-en by Miss Lillian Wright and Miss Beatrice Brewer and both young ladles la-dles showed remarkable ability. A pretty feature of the program was the "Poppy Dance" presented by twelve little girls under the direction of Mrs. Virginia Mathews. The girls were graceful and showed careful training. They were praised by the club members and visitors present An interesting paper on "The Training Train-ing of the Child," read by Mrs. Scott, was well received as was also Mr. King's address on organisation of boy's clubs. At the close of the program Mrs. Wattls served a dainty luncheon and the meeting adjourned to meet again with Mrs. E. G, Gowans in two weeks, BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION Quite a pretty birthday party given giv-en In honor of Mrs. E. O. Williams' birthday anniversary was beld last evening at the Williams home, 2232 Grant avenue. During the evening games and musical selections were enjoyed after which tempting refreshments refresh-ments were njcely served, the following fol-lowing guests participating:- Messrs. and Mesdames; E. O Williams, J. H. Williams, Fred D. Williams. E. H. D. Williams, H. D. LINEN SHOWER Miss Vera Doxoy was the recipient of a dainty and useful linen shower last evening at the home of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Wat- kins, 239 Twenty-seventh street and numerous pieces of linen embroidered In beautiful designs and initialed were the gifts of a host of friends. Features of tho evening's -entertainment were vocal and instrumental musical selections, recitations and various amusing games followed by service of delicious refreshments, consisting of sherbets, cakes, candles and Ice cream. BENEFIT DANCE Friday, April 10 in the amusement hall of the Fourth ward a benefit dance will be given for James Martin, Mar-tin, a missionary to Sweden, -whose father's death occurred recently. Mr. Martin has been gone two years and has numerous friends In this city who will undoubtedly be present at the dancing party Friday evening.
