Show DEATH AT A HOSPITAL Mrs. Margaret Bennett of Salt Lake, j wlio underwent an operation for appendicitis ap-pendicitis and tumor at the Dee hos-1 I-ital in this c'ty, died suddenly at aii early hour Monday moming under very peculiar circumstances Best' was due to pulmonary embolus. Wher ( the attending physician left the hos pital Sunday evening, Mrs. Bennett was feeling unusuallv well, and it was thought that she could leave tho hospital on Tiosdaj. At 3 o'clock Monday morning she sat up In bed an I talked with her nurse At that tunc the was in a happy frame of mind and ar.pcarcd to bo recovering rapidly. rapid-ly. She then fell asleep, and when the nurse returned to the 100m at C a. m., the patient was dead. The attending physician states that pulmonary embolus was tho cause oi death. Pulmonary embolus is doilned as ra condition which exists when a fmall clot of blood is thrown into the lunge, and the sufferor rarely lives more than a Tew minutes after the ccndlt'on manifests Itself. In, Mrs. Eennett's case there was no evidence that she had changed her position In bed after the nurse left her side, and it is thought that her death was very sudden, as she did not e'. on turn on tho electric light that was suspended near her hand. During the funeral services she was taken ill and was conveyed to tho hospital, where an operation was performed A few minutes before death claimed ( her, she was recovering rapidly from , the eftects of the surgical treatment.
