Show CROP REPORT IS BELOW AVERAGE Washington, May 7. The May crop report of the crop reporting board, bureau of statistics, United Statos department of Agriculture, issued at 2:15 o'clock tills afternoon and showing show-ing the condition on May 1, of winter wheat, rye, meadow lands and pastures, pas-tures, the percentage of spring plowing plow-ing and Bprlng planting completed, the acreage ol winter wheat to bo harvested, the estimated outturn of the wintor wheat crop and tho stocks of hav on farms May 1, Is as follows I A Inter wheat The average condl-. tlon of winter wheat on May 1 was I 79.7 per cent of a normal, compared ( with SO 6 per cent on April 1 , S6.1 per cent on May 1, 1911, and 85.2 per cent the average for the past ten ears on Mav 1. Tno area of winter wheat remaining remain-ing on May 1 to be harve'sted was I about 25,744,000 acres, or 3.41S.000 acres less than the area harvested in 1911. and 6,469,000 acres less than the area sown laBt fall, (32,312,000 acres ) The condition on May 1 Is Indicative of a yield per acre of approximately 1 1 4 bushels, assuming average variations vari-ations to prevtil thereafter On tho estimated area to be harvested this would produce a final crop of 370,- ' 714,000 bushels, compared with 430,- 656.000 bushels In 1911. 431142,000 bushels In 1910 and 417,780,000 bushels bush-els In 1909. The out-turn of the crop probably will be above or below tho figures here given according as the conditions from May 1 to time of harvest har-vest is above or below the average change.
