Show GITIZESS PLAN ASSjEETIHG In view of tho fact that the commission com-mission government bill passed by tho last Utah legislature does not provide for the Initiative, referendum and recall as applying to commission mayors and commissioners In this state, a score of prominent citlzons met in an office in tho Eccles building yesterday afternoon and took stops which are calculated to bring about the formation of a citizens' league, the primary object of which will be the election of a board which will "improvo and advance the peace and happiness and the safety and prosperity pros-perity of our city," All of those attending the meetlnc are men who have been prominently identified with the municipal commission com-mission plan In this city aud the session ses-sion held yesterday, aB it is calculated calculat-ed that the proposed mass meeting shall be, was non-political, non-sectarian and non-partisan. Tho list or those prosent includes tho following names: M. S. Browning, A. T. Wright, F M. Driggs, J. S Lewis, O. A. Pann-ley, Pann-ley, J. C. Nye, Sam Browning, A E Weatherby, Joseph Scowcroft, A L Brewer, Val Gideon, F. V. Fishei, Heber Scowcroft, D. O. McKay, C. C Richords, John T Hurst. ' M. S. Browuing was selected as chairman and F. M. Driggs acted as secretarv. After a statement setting forth the general object of tho meeting, meet-ing, plans were discussed and the following resolutions unanimously adopted: "Wherons, By an act of the last legislature leg-islature tho municipal government ot Ogden City is to be vested in a mayor and two commissioners, to bo known as tho bourd of commissioners of Ogden Og-den City, aud "Whereas, That commission form Of government so provided for does not include tho cubtomun, safeguards known as the 'initiative, referendum and recall, thereby making it possible possi-ble for tho board of commissioners to be loss responsive to the expressed will of the citizens, and 'Whereas, It Is theioforc of su-promo su-promo Importance to the general wolfaro of this community and every citizen thereof that a board of commissioners com-missioners should bo carefully selected, select-ed, irrespective of past party affiliations, affili-ations, thoroby giving assurance that the board will bo composed of clear-mlndod clear-mlndod and clean-handed citizens of woll-knowu honor and integrity who ! would so make and impartially '-orce '-orce laws that the board will hhvo the moral support of the whole 'people, 'peo-ple, tnerefore "It is hereby rGSolved that a mass meeting olthe citizens af Ogden shall be called for the purpose! of determining deter-mining the advisability of forming a citizens' organization for an aggressive aggres-sive campaign and tfie election of a board which will improve and advance ad-vance the peace and happiness and the safety and prospority of our city, and that the following , committee shnll arrange for said -meeting: j "J.
