Show SAYS WESTERN CANADIANS BELIEVE IN RECIPROCITY Hcber C. Smith, chief deputy food and dairy commissioner, has returnel from Alberta, Canada, whore he had been visiting since August 15. "There Is going to be a big crop of grain up there " said Mr. Smith yes-terday. yes-terday. "I was there eleven years ngo and the improvement since that time Is wonderful. The Canadian pure food laws do not amount to much. They have restrictions on the sale of certain articles, but there were some oils and other things on sale that would have been taken In for analysis here in Utah. In fact. I found it difficult to keep my hands off some of them. "Reciprocity is the principal topic of discussion in Alberta and the people peo-ple are generally in favor of it there. It Is said .that In eastern Canada talk about absorption and the like !g being used in an effort to persuade the peo pie to vote against this measure, but I think the vote in favor of it In the west will be heavy enough to carry it by a good majority." |
