Show TAKES OWN LIFE IN LIBERTY PARK Salt Lake, Sept. 5. Samuel Brln ton. aged 58 years, of one of the best known families in Salt Lake, and brother of Bishop David B. Brlntou of Brinton ward, committed suicide yesterday morning about 11:50 o'clock In Liberty Park by taking a large quantity of strychnine. It is believed by his family that Mr. Brinton was suffering from an attack of mental derangement, de-rangement, and that he killed himself as the result of worrv about fancied financial difficult ies! Mr. Brinton was seen at the Sugar House livery stable Sunday evening and seemed to be in good spirits. Ho was last seen about 11 o'clock yesterday yes-terday morning at his homo, 1127 East Eleventh South 6treet. by his children. child-ren. Although he said nothing of his his Intentions to members of his fam-lb, fam-lb, he left two letters addressed to his smaller children, asking their for-giveness for-giveness for any harsh words ho might have addressed to them. Tho letter was very sad in its strain but intimated nothing of which afterward after-ward happened. About 1:30 o'clock yeaterdav afternoon after-noon a party of boys discovered the body of a man east of the center drive and at the extreme southern side of the park. Beside the body was found a half-filled ounce bottle or strychnine. Sergeant Pitts and Auto Driver Moore investigated the case and removed the body to the O'Don-nell O'Don-nell undertaking establishment in tho patrol wagon. The body was identified as that of Mr. Brinton yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock by C. D. Brinton, a brother. |
