Show !THAT MEETING MONDAY. That was a quiet little meeting held in the Eccles building j Monday, at which less than n dozen were present by invitation and, i at which the plans of a political campaign were touched upon. Wc are somewhat puzzled as to the purpose of tho meeting, i ' It was not made public, in fact when a reporter called on one of the promoters before the meeting- the newspaper man was informed J, the rumor of a meeting was all a mistake, fliat there was "noth ing doing." The men at the head of the movement arc all prominent cit-r cit-r izens of high standing -n the community, but why the- should be a so secretive in making Their first move in this fall's campaign is g not disclosed. That the' do not intend to continue as an exclusive t$ body, operating behind closed doors is made evident by their dec- laration in favor of a call for a mass meeting to bo hold at some lime in the future. |
