Show BODIES MAY BE BROUGHT HOME i - Washington, SepL 9. Tho bodies of tho United tSates naval officers and men, which were recently exhumed from their graves on tho Island of Plamenco. In Panama bay, and rein torrcd in a cemetery at Ancon. in order or-der to make room for the canal fortifications forti-fications on Flamenco, probably will be brought to this country on an American Am-erican warship for burial in Arlington national cemetery. A large proportion propor-tion of the navy dead on the island were members of the crews of the United States stea(mshlp Lancaster and the U. S S Jamestown, who were fatally stricken with yellow fever while' those vessels were in Panama bay over fifty years ago. Before an. action ran be taken, it will be necessary for the secretary of the navy to consult the relatives of the dead sailors. |
