Show BAILEY WILL NOT LEAVE HIS STATE Gainesville, Texas., Sept. 9 Reports todav aro conflicting as to the purposo of yestordav's Gainsvllle's conference between United States Senator J. W. Bailey and half a dozen prominent Texas Democrats, among them Col. R. M. Johnson of Houston, national Democratic Dem-ocratic comltteeman of Texas; Clarence Clar-ence Ousley of the Port Worth Record, Rec-ord, and John L. Wortham, state railroad rail-road commissioner. The conferees said the gathering was directly to pay their respects to the senator, but It Is hinted that a successor to Mr. Bailey was discuss-cd. discuss-cd. It was stated on good authority here that Mr. Balloy will not change his residence to New York City after tho expiration of his senate terras, but will practice law In one of tho larger Texas cities. |
