Show WOOD YARD AND SOUP - KiTGHEN The Salvation Army is making arrangements ar-rangements to open up a soup dispensary dis-pensary for tho homeless and workless j men this winter In Ogden. In conuec-I conuec-I tlon with this thc Intend to have a wood yard where the men cah split a Ilttlo wood so that they may feel they are earning what they got, and on tho other hand the wood will be sold which will help to make tho movement self-sustaining. This is not a new Idea, In fact, in almost evory large city the Salvatlon-'rq Salvatlon-'rq have, for a number of cars, during dur-ing the winter months, dispensed soup to the need, f Captain Chesham desires to get the peoplo to send all the men to th.em who are without work and are hungry, and ho will appreciate those desiring wood to co-operate with tho Army In this undertaking. A free reading room will also be Installed where the men can come to get warm, while being supplied with books to read The Army has been successful In working among tQiose classes, and today It has found Its way Into history his-tory as an organization of the poor, by tho poor, for the poor.
