The rock is crushed, the elevator carries It to the screens, which divide tho broken pieces Into three bins, according accord-ing to tho size of the pieces The bin is built upon the hillside iu such a manner that the wagons may be filled with the rock In a few seconds from the chutes. About twenty men are working at this point, mostly prisoners prison-ers who have been sentenced to hard labor Commissioner Madson recently purchased a 30-horsepowcr motor from Charles Humphris for $1,00, which originally cost ?700. Electricians Elec-tricians say that the motor Is still In first-class condition. Twelve teams are at work hauling the rock to tho hillside entering Huntsville. One-eighth of a mile of macadamized roadway is already completed. com-pleted. The steam roller is being used In making the road. The macadam ia being placed eight inches thick and twelve foot wi'de and at a cost approximately ap-proximately of 23 cents 'per square yard. The teams at work aro paid $3 50 per day and mako three trips from tho crusher to the road. Commissioner Madson Is taking great pride In this particular stretch of road and It will bo nn Ideal piece of highway. As soon as the threo miles is completed tho scone of road-building road-building will bo shifted to other parts of the county where the people havo voted tax assessment for the purpose of Improving the roads. Of tho 5200.000 bonds votod by the state for the Improvement of Its roads Weber county receives $1-1,000. Tho county commissioners are handling the funds economically and arc doing good work on tho roads.
