Show CO-OPERATIVE FARMING I Salt Lake, SopL 9. "tV N. Sarver, president of the Lund Co-operative Farming company, which proposes to homestead and cultivate nearly 4,000 acres of land near Lund, Iron county, came to Salt Lake yesterday to purchase pur-chase thousands of dollars worth of farming implements and machinery. The Lund Co-operative Farming company is the biggest, organization of its kind in the state It is composed com-posed of twelve well known men of Los Angeles, who 'became Interested in Utah laud opportunities largely through the Salt Lake Commercial club publicity buerau's ,campaign at the PJaciflc land exposition last spring. 1 Each of them has filed on half a ' section of land near Lund under the enlarged homestead act and havo pooled tielr Interests to facilitate the clearing and cultivating of the tract. It is not a land company and will not sell nny of Its holdings! being organized organ-ized for farming only. Mr. Sarver yesterday closed deals for all the neccssan farming Implements, and work on the planting of winter wheat will be under way within several sev-eral weeks. Already the company has a complete traction outfit at work clearing the land. oo |
