Show LAND SELECTED -Jtiilf TEST Roland McKce of the department of agriculture, J. W. McHcnry, president of the Murray Commercial club, and a committee from tbo Agricultural col-j col-j lege at Logan yesterday selected a tract of land? one mile east of .Murray .Mur-ray and partly within the precincts of that city to be used by the department depart-ment of agriculture in Its fight against the alfalfa weevil, which Is making great Inroads upon the alfalfa crop of this state. The land chosen consists of eight acros of the J. R. Miller estato and is not at present planted in alfalfa. The first year it will be planted with alfalfa and will be protected against tho weevil. The second year it will be turned over to the pest and when tho weevil is well established In Its bold on the field many varieties of alfalfa al-falfa will bo planted that actual results re-sults may be ascertained as to which variety is best adapted to withstand the pest , it is the opinion of the people of that community that tlu results of tho experiment, if results there be, may save the alfalfa crop of the state. Mr. McKee will dovoto his entire time to the farm and he will bo assisted by A. II.
