Show KANESVILLE WANTS WATER But Their Ditch Starts From the Weber River Above the Mouth of Ogden River Plan to Run Fifteen Cubic Feet Through Ogden City Big Meeting of Stockholders Stockhold-ers of Wilson Irrigation Com-r, Com-r, pany Yesterday. Yesterday afternoon Alexander Drewer, president of tho Weber Club, County Commissioner O. B. Madson and Mayor William Glasmann attend-ed attend-ed a large meeting of tho Wilson Irrigation Ir-rigation company at the Kanesvllle meeting house. The stockholders of this ditch only wants 2,000 acres of water rights or $70,000 worth The three boosters above named felt elated over the bright prospects of selling such a big "bunch" of stock at one time In the reservoir company, but one of the farmers who attended the meeting says that tho three gentlemen gentle-men named, filled a great big automobile auto-mobile going out to Kanesvllle, but I when they left the automobllo was I only a third full, and It was all caused I by 'the fact that when the Wobcr Club I boosters dlscovored that the Wilson Irrigation ditch ran from the Weber river about one-half mile abovo the mouth of the Ogden river, they had no way to make the reservoir water run uphill for half a mile. I This rather put a damper on the enterprise, but nothing could retard the progress of tho president of the Weber Club, for Mr Brewer promptly proposed that the Bench canal be made wider and Kanesvllle take its water through tho Ogden Bench canal and run it down the Twenty-eighth street conduit (which latter Is ribw only used as a storm water outlet), and then on to the Weber river Mayor Glasmann, not to bo found deficient in ways of running water, proposed that a 24-Inch wood pipe bo laid from the river near Glonwood park through tho streets of Ogden, through tho railroad yards to the Wilson Wil-son ditch Oscar Matson, who was at tho mooting, moot-ing, said there was no use for him to butt in on any other schemo, as tho mayor and ox-mayor could build pipe lines and ditches faster ,than ho could. Mayor Glasmann thon Invited tho meeting to appoint a committee to Investigate In-vestigate both propositions and a resolution reso-lution was adopted substantially as follows: Resolved, by the stockholders hero assembled that It Is the sense of this meeting that the Wilson Irrigation company should buy from 12 to 15 second feet of water running for 90 das, and that a committee of five be appointed to investigate the possibilities pos-sibilities and cost of getting water through Ogden City, both by plpo line and throuch the Bench canal The resolution was adopted with only one man voting "No." Tho meeting elected the followjng: T. W. Peek, Albert Green, Thomas Fowles, E. W. Clayton and H. P.
