Feb. 1G John D Rockefeller Rocke-feller has a plan under consideration considera-tion for presenting his 51th strcol home and his adjoining realty holdings as a site for the new home of the Fifth Avenue Iiaptibt church, according accord-ing to the World today. The trustees or the Fifth avenue Baptist church have for threo years been looking for a suitable site on v. Inch to build a church along modern Institutional lines, but the committee in charge has fr.iled to nmko a selection. Mr. Rockefeller has recently purchased pur-chased a number of plots surrounding his homo and it is believed that he Is rounding out his holdings so that they may become available for the new church site, if tho trustees fall to find one more suitnble. The Rockefeller house, though very large, is not strictly modern and the owner prefers his Pocanlico Hills estate. It Is understood that he will give up Ills city residence If the church trustees accept certain offers he is formulating. The plan of Mr. Rockefeller and Dr Aked, tho pastor, Is to make the new church tho greatest great-est and most influential institution of Its kind in the world |
