Show HOTEL FOR BENEFIT OF SEAFARING MEN New Tork. Feb. 16. Ground will be broken In New York this spring for a $750,000 hotel for sailors. The enterprise, en-terprise, fathered by tho Seamen's Church Institute, Is the first of Its kind in the world. It has received the endorsement of tho commerce and various maritime organizations and nenrly $300,000 of the necessury amount Is already in the bunds of the trustees, John D. Rockefeller and J. P. Morgan each having given $50,-000. $50,-000. Ab in most other seaport cities, accommodations ac-commodations for sailors have been a souice of scandal here for years. Enactment of various federal statutes, to protect tho men from designing boarding house keepers has done much to Improve their lot, but It is 1 considered by those Interested in their welfare that much moro should be done. Tho hotel will be managed along lines similar to those which have made the Mills hotels in this city self-supporting.
