He will visit the central section sec-tion of the state tor the purpose of studying market conditions and learning learn-ing definitely ol the orchard outlook Ho is expected to return this evening. Regarding fruit conditions here, Manager Clay of the Ogden Fruit Growers' Association says that tho crop is looking a little "better each day. A good many cherries are being handled, but the crop Is far below normal nor-mal In quantity. There are sections of the country, however, where tho cherry crop Is fairly good, but tho supply is far short of the demand. John M Forrlstall, who has chargo of the McGriff orchard at North Ogden, Og-den, states that he Is gathering a good many cherries of the very best quality, but that ho cannot begin to supply the demand It Is Impossible ior him to furnish anything near enougn for the local trade It seems, too, he says, that because tho cherry crop Is short this season, everybody wants them In other yars, when there were plenty of cherrlos on tho trees, the people did not seem to 'be half so anxious to got them. Next month will be the harvesting time for tho apricot, but there will be a;llght crop. |
