Ho took two shots at 4V;the bear with a 30-30 rifle, the first vl Wwshot grazing his shoulder and the sec-fl sec-fl ft'ond strllclnS his hind quarter, causing a Kttie animal to roll over, but the HI k. wounds were not fatal, and the bear 1 escaped into the thickets.
