The structure Is being built H of brick and concrete, ono story high. H The capacity of the sub-station will bo j from 1.G0O to 2,000 horse power, whlcn M will furnish all the electricity needed H by the empauy In its it ciebtrlc light H and power system of the city, H The company has a force of about M 100 men at work establishing tho Hl trunk pole lines for the distribution H of electric power In tho c.ty and tho M placing of tho poles Is moving rapid- M ly. It is said by officers of tho con- structlon department that somo prop- H erty owners are objecting to tho jlac- H ing of poles In the interior of blocks H and that it is retarding somwhat tho progress of the workmen. It is said Hj by the campany that poles are being H placed in the center of blocks to avoid, H as much as .possible, the obstruction H of streets H All pole's of the paved district havo H to be placed in the Interior of tho H blocks, and, it Is thought by those M most Interested In this matter, that it M Is a good idea to follow that plan in m other sections of the city In most H Instances there is no objection to this H system by property owners, but there B are some who object to the pole lines H being placed on their property. Where Hj the objection is persisted in, the com- H pany Is placing tho poles on the street, H whore they have an undlsputable right M of way. |
