Show FARM NOTES BY HYRUM STEFFEN Beaver County Agent SUBMIT WHEAT-YIELD DATA Cooperation in obtaining accurate ac-curate wheat-iyield records is urged upon the farmers of Beaver county by William H. Wood, chairman of the county AAA committee. He says that wheat yield record books have been prepared for threshermen and combine operators. opera-tors. These books are made in triplicate with one copy of amount of wheat harvested on each farm for the threshermen or combine operators, another for the farmer and the third for the county AAA committee. But until wheat farmers realize the importance of accurate records on yields, the county AAA committee com-mittee will continue to he confronted con-fronted with incomplete information informa-tion and the necessity of making appraisals, Mr. Wood declared. Crop insurance rates are based on the yields of the individual farm. Without accurate information informa-tion on yields, it is almost impossible impos-sible to arrive at fair rates. If the yields are appraised too high, other farmers are helping to bear the risk of crop failure. If the yields are appraised too low, the farmer either does not take insurance in-surance or he is helping to carry the insurance on some other farm, Mr. Wood explains. Parity payments and the agricultural agri-cultural conservation program payments on wheat are based on yields. Incomplete and inaccurate information on yields is the cause of delay, dissatisfaction and sometimes some-times unfairness in the program. "Just a little time spent in getting an accurate record of the yield at harvest time may save many times the expense and trouble later on", he declares. M |
