Kirk had ad-ised The News that the Milford Realty comlpany had sold eight different tract of land in the pumping district dis-trict in two weeks. . Members of the D. D. S. club had been entertained at the home of Mrs. Wanda McCann. Those , present were Mesdames Maurice Johnson, Steve Harris, Sam Hickman, Hick-man, Warren Atkin, Walter Griffiths, Grif-fiths, Ross Lang, Eph Smith, Dan t , . James, Harve Hedges and Miss Lydia Robinson. Bert Nichols had received the appointment as Justice of the Peace in Milford. E. Smith, who had held the office for some time, had resigned. Mr. Nichols had held his office for many years prior to Mr. Smith's appointment. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Miller had returned from an auto trip to Portland and Seattle. They were accompanied from the Dalles, Oregon by Miss Frona Clay, who was to visit at the home of her father, L. G. Clay. Among those enjoying a few-days few-days at Puffers lake were Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Schow and Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Crookston Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Kirk had entertained at a dinner party at their home on North Stoddard street in honor of members of the Williams family wha had attended at-tended a reunion at Minersville. Thirty-five guesits were present. At a meeting held by the Business Busi-ness Woman's club of Milford, an instrumental duet had been given by Miss Macel Rogers and Miss Letha Schow, an address by iMrs. Vena Wilson and a dance number by little Jane Hanks. Members of the Pierian club had met at the home of Mrs. D. A. Baxter with the following taking part on the program: Mrs. Fay Hickman, Mrs. C. T. Woodbury, Mrs. Parley Fisher and Mrs. W. W. Markham. The people of Milford had observed ob-served the 24th of July by having children's sports, and a program in the L. D. S. church,' followed in the evening by a dance. |
