FIRE IN BROODER 1 CAUSED BY PIPE An alarm Tuesday Dlght at eleven o'clock brought out seventeen of twenty members of the Milford Volunteer Vol-unteer Fire department to extinguish a Hhed fire In the rear of the resilience resi-lience of J. Ylther on Utah Street. An overheated stove pipe which paused the roof of the shed to Ignite was the cause of the blaze. A flro was being kept in the shed stove because be-cause the place was being used as a brooder for five hundred baby chicks. When the blaze was discovered, the alarm was telephoned in from the residence of A. C. Johnson. Meanwhile, Louis Davis, a member of the fire department, who lives In the neighborhood, rushed to the shed and removed the chicks to a place of safety and then extinguished the fire. On arrival of the truck and volunteers, volun-teers, who responded almost Immediately, Immed-iately, the fire was out. |
