Show Censor Requires Interpretation. The mysterious German word "Zn gel" recently produced trouble In family residing In Coethen. says t Hamburg dispatch. A son serving ir the German army wrote his parents that he was returning home on a leavt of absence. He added that he would stop over in Brussels and asked foi money to enable him to return to Ger many. A few days later the famll received a telegram: "Send 100 marks to Victoria hotel. Zugel." The par ents hesitated to send the money, as this was not their name. They mads inquiries at the office of military offl clals. The answer came; "Zugel us bunko steerer. You can safely sent the money. Zugel Is an abrevlatiot added by the censor, meaning 'zuge iassen' (passed)." |
