Show Tells Tribune as to the Sugar Factory Financiers Expected to be Here Soon ami Look Over Field James P. Sprunt and W. C. A. Smoot, Jr., have just returned to the city after a five weeks trip to Delta and adjacent towns in Millard county, with a view of locating a site suitable for the erection of a 600 ton sugar plant and securing from the farmers signed contracts in sufficient suf-ficient acreage to justify the erection er-ection of a million dollar plant. They report having been successful suc-cessful in both. The farmers have signed for the growing of sugar beets for a period of seven years on more than 4000 acres of ground. The factory will be erected just north of Delta, where a most convenient site has been donated by enterprising citizens of Delta, Work on the grounds and main structure will commence within ninety days. Capital has been secured for the completion of the mill to take care of the 1916 Crop. ; This enterprise will prove of great value to the people of Delta Del-ta and Millard county, as their lands are especialy adapted to the successful growing of sugar beets. Fourteen hundred acres are being cultivated this year for the Utah-Idaho Sugar company and will be shipped to Payson, Utah county, for making into sugar. Next year these beets will be delivered to the Delta factory. Salt Lake Tribune. It is expected that those who are to finance the factory will be in Salt Lake the last of this week or the first of next and that they will soon make a trip to the "Greater" Delta Country to look over the situation. |
