Show Stake Academy is Prospering Prof. C. E. McClellan was-in Delta Tuesday, and visited the Chronicle office. In our conversation conversa-tion with him we learned that the Millard Academy-will open Monday Mon-day with a full corps of teachers to handle the year's work. Indications Indi-cations are that the attendance at the Academy will be larger than ever before. Following is the list of teachers employed for the coming year. Prof. C. E. McClellan, Principal. 'Prof. McClellan Mc-Clellan is a Utah boy, arid originally orig-inally came from Provo, where he put in two years in the B. Y. U. He has also taught in Idaho, and prior to the disturbances in Mexico, was engaged as a teacher teach-er in a church school in one of the L. D. S. Colonies in that country. Thomas Howells, Teacher of, Science, is a former student of the Ames Agricultural College of Iowa, and a Graduate of the U. of U.. R. V. Huffaker, teacher of Agriculture, Agri-culture, is of Tooele, and a graduate grad-uate of the Utah Agricultural College. John W. Bailey, of Salt Lake City, has charge of the department depart-ment of Manual Training. He Was' formerly engaged in contracting con-tracting and building in Salt Lake City. Miss Sarah Cook, a graduate of the U. of U., whose home is in Idaho, where she has been one of the State teachers, has charge of English and Elocution. Elocu-tion. Miss Cammilla Eyrmg has charge of the Domestic Science Department. Miss Eyring was one of the teachers of the Academy Acad-emy last year? Miss Dean Marsden, will fill the position of Instructor of Domestic Do-mestic Art. Miss Marsden is a graduate of the Boston School of Art and Science. Prof. John Brooks:, who has been .Musical. Instructor at the Academy, has recently resigned, and arrangements have been made whereby his position will be promptly filled. |
