Show Scipio Sallies The two-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wasden died at Holden on the 10th and was buried bur-ied from Scipio meeting house at 11 o'clock, Saturday morning. A large number of Holden people came over for the funeral Speakers were: Thos. Memmott, Pres. Thompson and Bishop Thompson. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family. The Bee Hive Girls gave a very nice party and dance last Friday night in honor of Mutual Annual Day. Punch and cake were served, serv-ed, and a good time enjoyed by all. Miss Lizzie Hatch, of Salt Lake City, is visiting her brother, W. I. Hatch. Sylvia Peterson returned . Friday Fri-day from a trip to Salt Lake and Garfield. Horace Monroe is having an extended vacation at Salt Lake and Garfield. Ruth Hatch is ill with typhoid. Jennie Robins leaves Friday for Marysvale where she is engaged en-gaged as teacher. Niels Lauritzen is home after three months in California. Over thirty students have gone away to High School. It strikes us that a high school of our own would be a good investment. Messrs, Cooper and Giles, of Fillmore, are wiring the new houses in town for electricity. Hans Esklund has bought the Dan Olsen home and intends to move in right away. This property prop-erty is one of the nicest in town. Cattle men spent several days on the mountain, last week, and report finding a number of cattle poisoned. |
