Show NORTH TRACT Jay Bea Walker Well Folks: In the style of the old masters i take my pen in hand"' to give ou a few lines. About ten days go Grandma Reid. who lives with M-S Frank Foote. fell and broke her left arm close to the shoulder. She is able to be up a bit but is , luile sore and bruised from the fall. W. J. Oppenheimer has returned from the hospital improved in health. Mrs. Oppenhiemer made a visit to Salt Lake City while he was there. M-S O. F. Faust visited M-S Chas. Jensen last week. Mrs. Faust was the former Sarah Ann Jensen. M-S Rodney Shields have moved back to Sugarville. S c made a j quick trio to his family the Sunday of April 29. ' I Roland and Archie Millett of Pay-son Pay-son visited in Sutherland Friday, Arpil 2S and 29. Archie is just recently re-cently returned from England, and wase wounded there. We're always i glad to have the boys come back ' to the old home town. Drove by the old Hickman place. Albert Reid will soon have a new house out of it, it looks like. Having Hav-ing a big bay window put in along with a lot of other improvements. Mr. Hickman still boards with Mrs. Egan and is in fair health. Mrs. Josephine Sorenson visited with her son and family, M-S Ivan Sorenson. She has recently returned return-ed from the Northwest, where she has been for an extended visit with her son's family, M-S Kenneth Sorenson. j Well "the water's in." Our good friend Sherm Little is out among us again. He seems as chipper as ever. -Kenneth Porter told his folks not to write any more. Suppose he's on his way home. The Jolly Stitchers met at the hall May 4th, with Mesdames May Wind, Thora Wind, and Nell Mun-ster Mun-ster as hostesses. About thirty ladies la-dies were present. Mrs. Lambert was a guest. The ladies are going go-ing to do the cooking for the calf show banquet. Enough said. Work assignments for the fall bazaar were given out. War stamps for the new babies and puhchasing of a war bond were the items of business. Voted to write a card of sympathy tot he Thalmans, who .recently lost their son in action. The Thalmans were former residents here and also members of the club. Had a nice chat with Margaret Edwards. She and Mr. Edwards had just recently returned from San Francisco. Doud Edwards Whiting Whit-ing lives in that vicinity. Howard had been in the hospital for medical med-ical care. Corded was waiting a-round a-round until his ship was sent out again, and so they had quite a get-! get-! together. .Mrs. Edwards said they 'went souvenir hunting but all they got was one autograph by some Chinese member of the Conference. Did you see the nice write-up a-bout a-bout Lee Walker in the Saturday Tribune. After all these years he had jpst received the Purple Heart for wounds received in World War I. Well Lee went from Sutherland so we're all interested. Lee has 2 sons and a son in law in this war. And Valerie Hersleff is up for a bond queen out of Kearns. Her picture was in the Sunday Tribune. We Delta folks do get around! On Friday the 11th there will be a servicemen's party in Sugarville in honor of S Sgt Orval and S Sgt. Rex Jensen, who are visiting M-S C. J. Jensen. The Jensens are no doubt thrilled to have both boys home at once. They plan to have all their children home for Moth-. Moth-. er's Day. i Sugarville Relief Society will be held at the home of Mrs. Venice Davis. They will honor all May birthdays, i Will be around to see you all in ' next week on the Bond Drive. Be ready. Jay Bea Mrs. J. W. Swalberg and Mrs. ', Wayne Sorenson and daughter returned re-turned home Monday from Salt ' Lake City where they visited with ', SSgt. Wayne Swalberg. Mrs. Mable Chapman and son re- turned to Salt Lake City last week , after sepnding a few days with her parents, M-S B. F. Sampson. |
