The Devil Dogs, in the current assault, found the long narrow island made up of plateaus and ridges. Most of the population of 443,000 is engaged in a substandard of agriculture. Centuries of being kicked around, in the game of power politics, has produced a mixed race with strains of Malayan, Korean, Chinese and Japanese a people completely ignorant of the United States.
