Show Awarded the Air Medal 15th AAF IN ITALY-- Second Lieutenant Miles D. Baker, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Baker, of Delta, a 15th AAF P-51 Mustang fighter pilot, has been awarded the Air Medal for meritorious achievement achieve-ment in aerial flight. I The citation accompanying his a-ward a-ward reads, "For meritorious achievement in aerial flight while participating in sustained operational opera-tional activities against the enemy between the dates January 20 and February 22, 1945." Entering the Army Air Forces in December 1942, Lt. Baker qualified for aviation cadet training, and was awarded his pilot's wings on I May 23, 1944, after completing advanced ad-vanced training at Luke Field. j He left the State for foreign service ser-vice in November 1944, and has completed 10 successful strafing 1 and high altitude heavy bomber escort missions from an Italian base. His wife, Mrs. M. D. Baker, resides re-sides at 35 South 7th East, Salt Lake City, Utah. |
