Promoted to First ! Lieutenant AN EIGHTH AIR FORCE BOMBER STATION, England Promotion of Robert S. Hodgen, 22, of Pacific Grove, California, whose wife lives in Delta, from 2nd lieutenant to 1st lieutenant has been announced at this Eighth Air Force B-17 Flying Fortress station. Lt. Hodgen is co-pilot of a Fortress Fort-ress which has been bombing German Ger-man military targets in cooperation coopera-tion with advancing Allied ground troops. The California flyer is the husband hus-band of Mrs. Janice Bringard Hodgen, Hod-gen, of Delta. He has been recently awarded the second Oak Leaf Cluster to his Air Medal for meritorious achievement achieve-ment during bombing attacks a-gainst a-gainst Nazi war industries and military mili-tary targets in cooperation with Allied ground forces by Lt. Col. Chester C. Cox' 33Sth Bomb Group.
