Show Mrs. Mortensen Is Hostess to Club Mrs. Fern Mortensen was hostess to the Country Club at their meeting meet-ing on Monday night. Dinner was served first, and the evening was spent playing bridge. Those present pres-ent were Beulah Bassett, Elinor Roberts, Ann Hales, Dorothy Steele, June Reid, Alma Petersen, Vi Mortensen, Mor-tensen, Lois Hinckley, Dora Mun-ster, Mun-ster, Lois Maxfield and Mary Tip-petts, Tip-petts, club members, and guets were Deonna Black, La Priel Mortensen, Mort-ensen, Vesta Cahoon, Marie Owens, and Maxine Bishop. High scores were held by Mrs. Hales and Mrs. Black, and the low score was held by Mrs. Maxfield. Mrs. C. B. Smith, from Salt Lake City, returned home Tuesday after a visit here for ten days with her sister, Mrs. Harold Colby. Miss Shelah Jane Colby returned to Salt Lake City with her aunt for a week's visit. Mrs. Lois Colby underwent an operation in Salt Lake City during the past week, and is now at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wayne Slaughter, and is doing very well. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Horton left Thursday for the northwest where they will visit. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Welker, of Pioche, Nevada, visited in Delta during the week with Mr. Walker's sister, Mrs. J. Avery Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. Walker were returning from Logan where he had attended attend-ed summer school. Mr. and Mrs. Will Carmack returned re-turned to their home in St. Louis during the week, after a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Munster. Mr. and Mrs. Max Thompson, and their two sons, from Salt Lake City, visited in Delta from Thursday Thurs-day until Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Wright. M. Ward Moody returned to Delta Del-ta Saturday from a business trip in California, and he also visited his brothers, Manton and Vaughn in Oakland and Los Angeles. Miss Carol Snow returned to her home in St. George Saturday, after a visit in Delta for two weeks with Miss Elizabeth Moody. Mr., and Mrs. Charles M. Jensen spent several days in Mt. Pleasant with Mr. Jensen's mother. Mrs. Jensen's home was in the path of the flood that did so much damage dam-age on the 24th, and the two front rooms of her home had been filled with water and mud. Easton Sampson and his wife, from Oakland, California, visited over the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sampson. Chester Cheel, former Deltan, recently re-cently underwent a major operation. opera-tion. He expects to return to his home in Las Vegas about Saturday. Satur-day. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Smith and daughter, Dorothy, spent the week end visiting and helping his brother-in-law, E. Largent, build. Bonnie Largent returned to Riverton with them. Jimmy and Stanley Hollingshead are visiting in Sahara Village, Ut., with their aunt, Mima Barnard. Isabella and Felice Lambson have returned home after three weeks vacation in Spanish Fork & Salt Lake City, visiting relatives and friends. |
