Show JayCees Plan Charter Night Banquet - Dance 250 Guests Expected To Attend Gala Event The Delta Junior Chamber of Commerce will receive its charter at a charter banquet to be held in the Delta high school on Saturday night. The Delta club will at that time join the state organization. The banquet will begin at 8 p. m. with the members and wives of the Delta club present, members from the Springville club which is sponsoring the Delta organization, state Junior Chamber of Commerce officials, and local people - who have been specially invited to the banquet. At the present time 250 have signified their willingness to attend. The program at the banquet is as follows: call to order, H. H. Mortenson, president of the Springville Spring-ville JCC; prayer, Willard Stephenson; Stephen-son; introduction of toastmaster, H. H. Mortenson; introduction of guests and visiting clubs, Kay Johnson, state vice president; trumpet solo, Cleo Whicker; welcome wel-come address, Mayor Golden H. Black; address, V. S. Barney, president presi-dent Delta Lions club; violin solo, Norma Hannifin; presentation of charter, W. Hughes Brockbank, president state JCC; acceptance ni charter, Carl Ashby, president of Delta JCC; presentation of officers pins, state official; presentation of founder's plaque, state official. Following the banquet a dance,' will be held in the Delta opea air. Charter members of the newly organized club are: Carl Ashby, president; Lloyd Schlappi, vice-president; vice-president; Leigh Maxfield, vice-president; vice-president; Reed Turner, secretary and treasurer; LeRoy Smith, Ma Robison, and DeWayne Anderson, directors, with members, Cecil Baker, Ba-ker, N. S. Bassett, Ray Church, Gilbert Gil-bert Day, Webber Franklin, Owen Gardner, Earl Kelly, Ward Spendlove, Spend-love, Ward Killpack, James Knighl, Gordon Nielson, Homer Peterson, Robert Riding, Leland Sanderson, Clayton Stapley, Roy Steele, Willard Wil-lard Stephenson, Carl Taylor, J. Evan Wright, and Reed Woods. |
