Show NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING APPERTAINING TO THE CONSTRUCTION, CON-STRUCTION, OPERATION, & MAINTENANCE OF THE NEW WASTEWATER TREATMENT TREAT-MENT WORKS AND USE OF THE TERTIARY TREATED WATER FROM THE PLANT. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that CEDAR CITY CORPORATION CORPORAT-ION will hold a public hearing relative to the construction, op-eration op-eration and maintenance of the proposed new wastewater treatment treat-ment plant and the- proposed use of the tertiary treated water wa-ter therefrom at the hour of 8:00 P. M., on the 28th day of February, 1974, In the courtroom court-room of the City and County Building, Cedar City, Iron County, Coun-ty, State of Utah. The project consists of approximately ap-proximately 8,500 feet of grav-ity grav-ity sewer line from the existing exist-ing plant to the new plant site, a sewage lift station with two 450 gpm. pumps and a pressure sewer line to the gravity outfall out-fall line, a sewage treatment plant consisting of headworks with comminuter, grit works and measuring flume, one 55 ft. diameter primary clarified, one 110 ift. diameter primary trickling trick-ling filter, one GO ft diameter intermediate clarifier, two 12 ft. diameter automatic backwash back-wash gravity filters for effluent efflu-ent polishing, two 50 ft. diameter dia-meter anaerobic digesters and seven sludge drying beds of 4,000 sq. ft. The treatment plant is designed de-signed for an average hydraulic hydraul-ic load of 2.26 million gallons per day an an organic load of 330 lbs. BOD per day for an equivilent population of 19,000 people. The polished effluent meeting meet-ing Class "C" water quality standards will be intermittently stored in an equalizing reservoir reser-voir constructed in earth, with an impervious clay lining on the entire bottom and sides thereof to prevent seepage losses, los-ses, and pumped therefrom by means of .two 8 inch turbine pumps having capacities of 1350 gpm and a pressure pipeline pipe-line back into the corporate boundaries of Cedar City Corporation Cor-poration and used for unres-stricted unres-stricted Irrigation purposes to beautify Interstate Highway N. 15, the city cemetery, golf course, ball parks and other such recreational facilities as the city may deem necessary, andor Intermittently stored for such Irrigation purposes in a reservoir also constructed in earth approximately one mile southwest from the city proper. There will be no direct dis-charge dis-charge of the polished effluent Into any surface stream nor Irrigation Ir-rigation canal nr ril.teti nf 4Vi Cedar City Valley except In an extreme emergency of prolong, ed power failures, meteorologl-cal meteorologl-cal and hydrological extremes which cannot be controlled by Cear City Corporation and the employees thereof. The plans for the proposed treatment works, equalizing storage reservoirs, pumping stations and related facilities can be reviewed at the Cedar City Office and the office of 'Ralph B.
