Show TO HOST TOURNAMENT. Cedar City Senior Little League will be host to a five-team three-day three-day tournament which opens this evening. The Cedar City team will meet Parowan in the opening round of play with play to begin at 7:30 p.m. They include, front row, left to right: Kendall Smith, Brad Larson, Robert Morris, Kary Laird, Vance Matheson, Kerry Cox and Brad Jackson. Senior Little League tourney opens in Cedar City today It's baseball tournament time in Cedar City and the first of the events will be a five team Senior Little League tournament that will get underway today, Thursday. Cedar City Senior Little League will host the three-day events and teams from Cedar City, St. George, Richfield, Parowan and South Sevier will participate. According to Yorke Nelson, District Administrator for Little League baseball the drawings have been made and the first round of tournament play will pit Richfield against St. George in the opening game at 5 p.m. and Cedar and Parowan are matched in the night cap scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. South Sevier drew the opening round bye. Friday the 5 p.m. game will be a consolation bracket encounter with the losers of the first day meeting in that contest. At 7:30 p.m. the winner of the Rich-field-St. George game will be pitted against South Sevier. Winner of the Cedar vs. Parowan contest will draw a second round bye into the championship game to be played Saturday evening at 8 p.m. According to Joe Jackson, league president, Arlo Larson will serve as the chairman of the tournament activities. Plans call for concessions to be sold during the tournament and a program booklet is also being prepared to help defray tournament expenses. ex-penses. Winner of the District level of tournament play will not have much rest. The winner will represent the district in a regional tournament to be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 22,23, and 24 in Clearfield at which winners of District 1 and 2 from Utah and the Nevada state champioas will vie in a three-team, double elimination tournament.
