Region hoop tournament to determine state berths The Region Eight Basketball round robin will get underway at St. George this i afternoon with berths in the state 1A and 2A to be determined. A total of 15 teams will participate in the tournament with sessions beginning today at 11 a.m. and continuing through Saturday evening. Two sessions will be held each day. Thursday and Friday each session will have three games with two games per session Saturday. Based on regular season play only Milford in the 1A division and Cedar in the 2A have clinched tournament berths. Cedar High School will draw a bye in the first two rounds of play and compete only in the championship game slated Satur day evening at 8 p.m. The two participants in that contest will both go to state and the outcome will determine seeding lor the state tournament only. In the battle for the second state tournament tour-nament slot in the 2A division host Dixie High School will be favored to win the open tournament slot. The Flyers will meet Millard in the opening round with Delta and Hurricane slated to tangle in the other round battle. I The winners will then meet Friday to determine the tournament berth.
