Show Jayvees complete successful season A 6-8 won lost record might not sound too snappy to some teams, but for the Southern Utah State junior varsity squad, it looks pretty good. The junior T Birds have in-eluded in-eluded in that record victories over the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, junior varsity ; Dixie College; Utah Technical College, Salt Lake; Snow College; and College of Eastern Utah. The SUSC jayvees have gradually built their program over the past three years, and the just complted 1974-75 season is another step up. "We have several potential varsity players on the squad," Steve Lunt, coach, said. Five junior varsity players averaged double figure scoring. Sophomore Quinton Davis hit 14.3 points per game. He is a 6-7 forward-center from Ogden. Bob Lyman, a 6-5 freshman forward from West High in Salt Lake City, averaged 14.1 points. Brian (ireen, 5-11 freshman guard from Salt Lake City; Don Payne, 6-5 forward from Cedar City; and Arlin Sawyer, 6-6 center from Panguitch, rounded out the double figure scorers. As a team SUSC had a scoring average of 79.4 points. Opponents scored an average of 76.9 points. |
