Display their best team effort effort of the season the Southern Utah State College T-Birds grabbed up a pair of important Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Con-ference victories Friday and Saturday evenings at War Memorial Fiekihouse. Friday night the T-Birds bested the Indians of Adams State by a score of 104 to 67 and Saturday night they came back with an 87-68 victory over Western New Mexico University, the pre-conference favorite. An indication of the team effectiveness ef-fectiveness of the T-Birds is the fact that seven were in double figures against Adams States and six penetrated the double figure ranks in the WNM victory. Against Adams State the Birds hit 58.8 percent from the field and were lead in scoring by Steve Laing with 16 points. Jim Wilding, who is the team's leading scorer as well as rebounder captured eight boards and had 15 points. Kerry Rupp hit for 12 points with reserve guards Amas James and Bernie Leavitt each scoring 11. Coming off the bench to capture six rebounds and 10 points was Robin Haight. Starting Gary Crosby was also in double figures with 10. Every member of the. T-Bird squad hit the scoring column as Coach Stan Jack substituted freely after building up a 20 point margin at half time, 51 to 31. Against WNM the SUSC scoring honors went to Robert Lee with 14 points. Wilding was again the leading rebounder with eight, followed closely by Lee and Haight with seven each. Others in double figures included James with 13; Ilaight and Crosby with 12 each; Rupp with 13 and Wilding with 10. Uvl)l(i HFBOl'NDKR. Wilding in 14 games has grabbed off 139 rebounds for an average of 9.9 per game and is scoring at a 14.1 point per game clip, de has scored a total of 197 points this season, prior to Tuesday's gjimc against Westminster. i .
