Show Visits to Zion Park down for 74 Zion National Park, operated by the National Park Service, recorded 941,313 visits in 1974 according to Superintendent Robert C. Heyder. This figure represents a decrease of 146,087 visits or 13.5 percent from the previous year. A total of 158,573 visitors used campgrounds during 1974 which was a decrease of 12.7 percent compared to 1973. Zion National Park is open to the public on a year-long basis. The Watchman campground will be open all winter. The Park's Visitor Center information services and museum is open daily from 9 a m. to 5 p.m. When the days Ijecome significantly longer this spring, hours of operation w ill be lengthened. The Park office will remain open on an 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. basis, Monday through Friday. Good visitor service and accommodations ac-commodations are available throughout the year in nearby communities. |
