Show To County, Parowan Frontage roads to be relinquished The Utah Staie Road Commission, Com-mission, meeting in Salt Lake City Friday, passed a resolution to transfer some eight miles of frontage roads in Iron County to Both the Iron County and Parowan City Commissions have agreed to accept their respective portions of the roads under the B and C Roads Program. the jurisdictions of Iron County and Parowan City. The frontage roads were under the jurisdiction of the State Highway High-way Department while construction con-struction was underway in Interstate In-terstate 15 between Summit and Paragonah and on the Parowan Connection. State law requires that Jurisdiction ot the roads be relinquished to local authorities upon completion of the project. The action will become effective ef-fective when Federal Highway Administration approval is secured. The Commission also passed a resolution recommending that the Utah Legislature transfer to Iron County and Parowan City a portion of U-3K running from Summit to 200 South Street in Parowan. The resolution recommends that Collector Road 26 be added to the State Highway System, designated as U-143, and that the present section of U-143 running from Parowan's Center Street to I 15 be redesignated as U-274. These actions are also the result of the completion of Interstate In-terstate 15 between Summit and Paragonah. However, they require the approval of the Utah Legislature to become effective. |
