"This is one of the finest motel accomodations in southern Utah," commented Jim Thorley, manager of Thorley Investments, owners and operators of the new Dowtown Travelodge in Cedar City. "It was not our intent to just put up another motel," Thorley stated. "We wanted to provide one of the finest accomodations available in the southern Utah area and we have gone the 'extra mile' to do that," he said. The new facility, located near the Center and Main Street intersection in Cedar City, has 50 units and a unique design that features many energy saving devices, he said. The office area is separated from the motel units and on the same level as the middle unit of the three-level motel unit. "That provides a convenience to customers to have to walk no more than one floor either up or down after crossing the breezeway from the office to the units," Thorley said.
