Show Girl Staters Scholarships Ten Utah Girls State participants have been awarded scholarships to attend Southern Utah State College fall quarter of 1979. Winners of full tuition scholarships for one year are Angela Dittmar, 1739 Ski View Drive, Sandy; Lisa RaNae Wilde, Manila; Sandra Lee Fechner, 211 South Sandrun, Salt Lake City; Carri Lynn Phippen, 205 East 7070 South, Salt Lake City; and Rebecca Kitchen, 309 West Center, Richfield. Activity scholarships, each worth $190, have been awarded to Phyllis Terry, Enterprise; Linda Nienals, 1035 East 1st North, Brigham City; Heidi Anderson, An-derson, Mt. Pleasant; Laura Ruth Allgood, 118 South 300 East, North Salt Lake; and Heidi Lynn Mouritsen, 3980 South 2700 West, Salt Lake City. Each of the scholarship winners have been leaders in their home high schools and in activities at Utah Girls State, which is hosted annually an-nually by Southern Utah State College. The girls will be seniors in their respective high schools this fall. "We are certainly pleased to offer these scholarships," Del Taylor, SUSC director of admissions, indicates. "It takes a special kind of girl to be selected to attend Girls State, and it takes an extra special kind of girl to stand out among this caliber of girls. These are the kinds of students we like to see attend at-tend SUSC. SMILING COOKERS Last week at our meeting the Smiling Cookers practiced prac-ticed what we had learned about making sandwiches. We made three different kinds of sandwiches. They were egg salad sandwiches, broiled sandwiches, and baked tuna-cheese sandwiches. sand-wiches. We also learned how to boil eggs the right way.
