Show Family Relations Council names Head A Brigham Young University professor of child development and family relations has been elected president of the newly established Utah Council on Family Relations. "The national body's primary goal is to strengthen the family," stated Dr. Boyd Rollins, the new president. Dr. Rollins is a native of Minersville, and was raised in Cedar City. He received his B.S. in history from Utah State Universtiy, his master's degree in home development and family relations from BYU and he received his Ph. D. in family relations with minors in child development and sociology from Cornell University. The organization is an interdesciplinary society or professional people from most of the social sciences, as well as family H education, marriage ana family couseling and home economics law. The council attempts to strengthen the family through encouraging research on the family and by promoting quality family life education in the schools, churches, and other community com-munity settings and through local, state and national legislation. |
