Show Cowbells promote Beef on Father's Day Father's Day is a time of tradition-a special day set aside to recognize a very special individual. This Father's Day, June 18, marks the 25th anniversary an-niversary of another tradition. Beef for Father's Day. "Although fathers have been enjoying beef on this occasion for more than 25 years, it was in 1953 that the American National CowBelles first begun to promote the idea," Diana Graff of the Iron Coutny CowBelles. Beef, Mrs. Graff points out, is one of the most versatile ver-satile foods available today. With over 100 different cuts to choose from, there is a beef dish for any budget. Today's sirloin tip roast is tomorrow's barbecued beef of sandwich, Mrs. Graff said. The Iron County CowBelles, along with the Beef Industry Council of the Meat Board, are cooperating in the annual Beef for Father's Day program. In Cedar City the CowBelles will present a beef roast to the parents of the first baby born in the Valley View Medical Center on Father's Day, July 18, and also a beef roast will be presented to the lucky physician who delivers the Father's Day baby, Mrs. Graff said. |
