Cedar hosts Senior LL Toirney Cedar City will host a four-team four-team Senior Little League baseball, tournament Wednesday through Friday of next week, according to York Nelson, Little League District representative. Lindy Neilson will serve as the tournament director for the four-team, three-day tournament. Teams participating in the tournament action will be Dixie, Tri-City (an area including Orderville, Kanab and Fredonia, Ariz., Piute and host Cedar City. Pairings have been set for the double elimination tournament with Dixie and Tri-City scheduled in the opener on Wednesday, July 19 at 5:30 p.m. That will be followed by Cedar vs Piute at 8 p.m. Since the tournament is a double elimination the tournament could run through Saturday but should a team go undefeated the championship game could be held Friday night at 8 p.m. In Thursday's action first round winners will meet with the winner to advance into the championship. Cedar City tournament team will be managed by Kirt Soderquist who managed the league championship team CAPO during the regular season. He will be assisted by Steve Rollo. Rollo managed Del Rich Real Estate during the regular season play. Members of the team, in alphabetical order include: Gary Alger, Shane Baggs, Russell Beatty, Neal Bladen, David Carter, Richy Davis, Bryce Gubler, Layne Holmes, Cary Larson, David Lopour, Kyle Kingsford, Craig Sellers, Kevin Soderquist and Chris Stephenson. Games will be played in the Cedar City Municipal baseball park. |
