Show TAKE SECOND IN STATE.Members of the Parowan High School Girls track and field team display second play trophy won at State 1A track meet. They are, left vto right: Diane Gurr, Lisa Stolk, Anita Green, and Lynna Rowley. PHS Girls take Second atState PAROWAN - State Track meet was held last Saturday at Snow College. The girls participating in State were Diane Gurr, Anita Green, Lisa Stolk, Lynna Rowley, Misty Bentley, Kim Van-Sickle, Van-Sickle, Angie Bentley, Barbara Davneport, Quinton Robiason. The girls took second place with 64 points total. North Summit took first place with 112 points. The girls did really well even though they did not have any first place winners in the events, we took second and third place in the track meet. Diane Gurr took third in the low hurdles, 3rd in the KM) yard dash, 2nd place in the 440 yard dash. Anita Green took 2nd place in the 100 yard dash, 4th in the 220 yard dash. Lisa Stolk placed 2nd in the High Jump, 4th in the shot put. The 440 yard relay took second place, those running in the relay were Misty Bentley. Kim VanSickle, Diane Gurr, and Anita Green. The Mile Relay team took 4th place, those competing were Misty Bentley. Lisa Stolk, Angie Bentley and Barbara Davenport. Coach Bailey commented that next year if we have a lot of students participate, our chances for first place in State are greatly increased. |
