Show Robert Gerring Exhibit numerous group exhibitions, including the Arizona State Fair, Arizona Designer-Craftsmen Designer-Craftsmen Annual; Utah Designer-Craftsmen Annual; An-nual; Ceramics West Invitational; In-vitational; 10th Biennial Exhibition of Utah; Springvilie, Utah Annual;' and Arizona Crafts'77 Traveling Exhibition. The artist is represented in many public and private collections. He has re received several .awards for ' -. ( i r ''if The Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery at Southern Utah State College, Cedar City, announced that an exhibition of recent works by Robert L. Gerring will be shown from May 17 to June 22.Many of the works will be available for purchase. According to Prof. Thomas A. Leek, SUSC art curator, a public reception, Thurs., May 17, 7 to 9 p.m., will mark the exhibition's opening and provide the opportunity for people1 to- meet the artist:-Light artist:-Light refreshments will 'be"" served. Robert L. Gerring currently directs the art program and curriculum at Mohave Community College in Kingman, Ariz. He teaches courses in ceramics, sculpture, drawing and painting. Mr. Gerring received his B.A. degree from the University of Nevada at Reno in 1956 and received his M.F.A. degree from the University of Arizona at Tucson in 1966. Prior to his teaching, Mr. Gerring worked as a commercial com-mercial artist in Reno, Nev. and Kansas City, Mo. He has since taught art in elementary and secondary schools. He was a member of the Southern Utah State College art faculty from 1966 to 1975 and held the rank of associate professor. Since 1970, Gerring has owned and operated Custom Fountains, an art enterprise company. He has had several one-man exhibitions, including the University of Arizona; Southern Utah State College;Springville Art Gallery, Springville;Cob-Web Hall GAllery, Prescott, Ari;z.; and mohave County Museum and Gallery in Kingman, Ariz. He has participated in Robert I. .Gerring his artistry, including a cash award for sculpture in the Arizona State Fair (1978); purchase award in painting for a U.S. Post Office Mural Competition in Arizona 1975); first award in ceramics, Boulder City, Nevada, Art Festival (1972); award of merit, 10th Biennial Bien-nial Exhibition of Utah (1970); and the outstanding Tucson ceramic entry award, Arizona Crafts Show (1966). Mr. Gerring has travelled extensively with his family, including much of the United States and Western Europe. |
