Show Walter E. Ulrich addresses Vocational Graduates lie has also worked as a Youth Resident Camp Director for a Manpower Development and Training Program; as an industrial education teacher at Lincoln Junior High School in Salt Lake City; and as a training coordinator for several years at Sperry Utah Company, also in Salt Lake City. The vocational commencement speaker is a member of several professional organizations including the American Vocational Association: the National Association of Supervisor Trade and Technical Education; the American Society of Training and Development; and the Utah Vocational Association. Ulrich has earned degrees from Weber State College, and Utah State University where he is a member of Phi Kappa Phi. He has done graduate work at the University of Colorado. Walter E. Ulrich. head of a committee com-mittee appointed by Governor Matheson to study vocational education throughout the state of Utah, will address 175 vocational graduates Thursday evening at Southern Utah State College. Ulrich is presently on leave from his position as the State Director lor Vocational Education to head the vocational study which is expected to be completed by November of this year. "We are very pleased to have Director Ulrich with us as our vocational commencement speaker, especially since we will be honoring the largest number of vocational graduates in SUSC historv." Harold II. Hiskey, dean of the SUSC School of Business and Technology, said. Ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. on the upper campus quadrangle. Music will be provided by the SUSC Wind Ensemble under the direction of Professor Joseph Lamoureux. The 175 certificates of vocational . competency will be awarded by SUSC President Orville D. Carnahan. Ulrich has had several years experience ex-perience as an industrial teacher, as a teacher of industrial education in the public schools, and as a supervisor of vocational programs.
