Show " t-A JUMP SHOT. A PHS player goes high for a jump shot against Escalante defender. The Rams were victorious both Friday and Saturday evenings. Rams win overMoquis- Buffalos PAROWAN - Friday evening the PHS basketball team pulled out a sometimes-in-doubt win against Escalante, with a final score of 52 to 44. The Ram team started out with what looked like a "run away" game against the Moquis with an early score of 17-2. But the Rams turned : cold as ice hitting only 26 percent from the field and 16 percent from the foul line for the next two quarters. The team came up with a great 4th quarter, from the poor percentages to a 45 from the field and 67 from the foul line. Mike Robinson was high point man with 17 followed by Brad Fife with 16, Mike Evans 8, Kim Bess 2, Brent Rowley 7, and sophomore Dan Robinson 2. Saturday evening the Rams picked up another big win defeating a hustling team from Bryce Valley by a 70 to 50 score. The Rams started off fast but hit a slump as the score at half time had Parowan ahead by only 3 jwints, 27 - 24. But with a determination to get the defense going, the Rams broke it open in the third quarter and went ahead 49 to 35. They built up a 25 point lead in the final period, and coach Riggs was able to play his bench. Mike Evans was high point man with 22 points followed by Brad Fife with 20, Brent Rowley, 17, Mike Robinson 5, Kim Bess 4, Richard Burtn 1 and Danny Adams 1. The Rams have a fine ball club this year and are looking forward to a w inning season. Fans are encouraged en-couraged to support them at the Friday and Saturday night games. |
