Show In ouropinion - Dig deep -let's support lighting project An appeal is being made to residents of the Cedar City and surrounding area to lend their support to the Cedar City Jaycees and their Christmas Lighting program for the community. "We went out on a limb - literally - this year to purchase $11,000 of additional lighting and decoration fixtures to enable us to extend the lighting project to include all of the Main Street area," James Froyd, president of the Jaycees indicated. Generous support from Cedar City Corporation and from California-Pacific Utilities Company has been expressed in cash and manpower. Individual residents have been asked to lend their support through donations for which a 1977 Chevette Scooter will be given away on Christmas Eve. At this point in time the individual in-dividual support has not been expressed. We believe that the Jaycees provide a worthwhile and worthy project for the entire area-a project for which they spent many hours and many of their own funds to brighten the holiday season. Don't wait to be asked. Give your support. Donations can be made at most of the business establishments establish-ments in Cedar City or through a member of the Jaycees. They have but one alternative if that support is not forthcoming-that's forthcoming-that's to sell the merchandise back at a heavy loss to compensate for their indebtedness. Let's give the Jaycees our support on this project. They need, they desire it, and a little from each of us won't hurt one bit. |
