Show Recreation League Basketball underway An open basketball league is now being organized by the Cedar City Recreation Department. It is for individuals in-dividuals of high school age and older. Team entries will be accepted ac-cepted until December 23 in the recreation office. Information In-formation on the league can , be obtained by calling 586-I 586-I 6513. The league is scheduled to start the first week in j January. I In addition a league for . indivuduals 30 years of age and older is also scheduled to start after the first of the year. The over 30 league also has a deadline date of December 23. Individuals ' interested in organizing a team for either league are encouraged to register as soon as possible as places will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Basketball Clinic Registration for the Cedar City Recreation-Iron County School District jointly sponsored basketball clinic will be held on January 7 at the Community Education Center (old junior high school) The clinic will be for elementary age students and will be hell on six consecutive con-secutive Saturdays. The participants will be divided into three age groups. Grades 1 and 2 will come from 8 9:30 a.m., grades 3 and 4 from 9:30 -11 a.m., and grades 5 and 6 from 11-12:30 p.m. Instructors in the clinic will include Steve Hodson, Warren Hatch, Monte Widdison, Randy Cowan, Mark Wilson and John Neilson, Alumni basketball tournament tour-nament A first for Cedar City will occur the week of March 13-18, 13-18, 1978 as the first Cedar High School Alumni . Basketball Tournament will be held. Teams will be composed of graduates of the same year and they will compete against graduates of other years. Information on team organization, registration fees, and tournament operations can be obtained from the Recreation Department office in the Community Education Center, (old junior high building) or by calling 586-6513. |
